Poder Coral invites everyone to the 2025 CHoral Retreat in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

From August 11 to 16, 2025, we will hold an intensive choral retreat, inviting anyone who wishes to deepen their work in singing, vocal technique, choral repertoire, ensemble performance, stage work, theater, and music reading to participate.

We will also offer choral conducting classes for students who want to lead a choir for professional practice, with advice from the retreat's directors.

Where will it take place?

The retreat will be held in downtown Puerto Vallarta (Romantic Zone) at the Santa Cruz Church. The setting will allow for maximum focus on musical work while also offering the chance to enjoy the beach, restaurants, and all the wonders of this beautiful port.

Who are the Teachers?

The choir will be led by Aquiles Morales (founder of Poder Coral, director of the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra, and the Rita Guerrero Virreinal Choir at the Claustro de Sor Juana), soprano Yunuen Xolotzin Flores, and Maestro Lucero Rosas.

American soprano Kelly Wenz will conduct a vocal technique workshop.

We will approach choral singing by seeking emotional and physical balance through the voice. Stage practice will be included, and vocal preparation will incorporate yoga with Maestro Norma Suárez.

The choir will be accompanied by pianist Daniel Valero.

What does the retreat include?

The Choral Retreat includes the full course: yoga sessions, vocal technique classes, conducting workshops, rehearsals, and a final concert. It will run from August 11 to 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with breaks for lunch.

Accommodation and meals are the responsibility of the participants. We will suggest affordable set menus at nearby restaurants and provide some lodging options. Puerto Vallarta offers a wide range of accommodations, from Airbnb and hostels to luxury hotels.

Retreat Cost:

- Adult: $6,000 (Mexican pesos)
- Music student in a professional school: $4,000 (Mexican pesos)
- Choral conducting students with active participation in directing: $5,000 (Mexican pesos)

Payment can be made in 3 monthly installments.
